This will be the 21st edition and will follow the usual format involving 32 teams, (31 determined through qualifying competitions and the automatically qualified host team of Russia) all divided into eight pools each with four teams.
A total of 64 matches will be played in 12 venues located in 11 cities with Germany defending its World Champion Title.
